FATVillage Arts District presents the opening reception and artist talk for The Necessity of Seduction.
The Necessity of Seduction is a gallery exhibition where artists of two cultures, Cuba and America, visualize a contemplation of Anima: the feminine principle as personal and cultural gestalt. The exhibition originated from enlargements of the antique cigar women images from Cuba. Graffeo collected these tiny photographs (one inch by two and a half inches) at markets in Cuba.
The exhibition includes 50 or more tiny framed images printed from the originals and 15 large scale framed images which are painted photographs done by Karen Graffeo and Esteban Jimenez Guerra (Tatico Cuban). The large paintings are done both individually and in collaboration.
*Please be advised this exhibition contains mature content and features nudity. *
Artist talk at 7 pm in 531 NW 1st Ave.
On view until October 30th.
