Join IS Projects for this special Valentine’s Day edition of marbling and letterpress printing with festive snacks and cocktails!

In this workshop, participants enjoy beer and wine while learning the basics of Suminagashi marbling and letterpress printing! This Japanese technique of marbling uses only ink, water and wind to create beautiful, airy designs. Through this process, we will be experimenting with making marbled patterns as a ground on fine art printmaking papers and then printing customized text over top using our wood type and printing press. Each student will leave with two 11” x 14“ custom prints and lots of marble samples to use as decorative papers!
