An excerpt from Status Symbols and the Measurement of Status Perception Author(s): James A. Davis
Throughout the centuries, the chandelier has gained a reputation as probably the most popular decorative object. Since its beginnings, it was a symbol of triumph and social standing. The name itself was a synonym for luxury, power, and class. The word ‘chandelier’ originates from the French word ‘chandelle’ meaning candle.
Treating the 5,800 Sq.Ft. warehouse space as our community’s living room, the selected artists will examine what it is to visually communicate (Status Symbols and the Measurement of Status Perception) reputability.
